I would add some Graph Theory and perhaps the Fourier Transform to that list (if only because it takes you to the FFT). I don't think it will immediately make a difference, but I do think in the long run it will hurt you not to know some solid maths.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;As a mathematician, I have sometimes thought I can get away with inferior programming techniques and it works for a while but it catches up to you. I believe the same can be said of the reverse situation.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;However, I must take issue with learning automata theory, formal languages and the lambda calculus. While interesting, some of this is outdated and was invented before modern computers by people who were so epic they didn't need computers to program (Turing).
